CHALLENGER POINT COLORADO 14ER 1.75″ MOUNTAIN SUMMIT COIN

The summit was originally referred to as a subpeak of Kit Carson Peak. The name officially changed to Challenger Point in 1987 in memory of the seven crew members aboard the shuttle Challenger that exploded shortly after liftoff on January 26th, 1986. A plaque was installed on the summit the following year.
